The Fast Metabolism Diet book was written in 2013 by Haylie Pomroy who is a celebrity
nutritionist and wellness coach. This book promotes weight loss through the consumption
of the right foods, and lets customers eat three full meals a day with two snacks in
between (pretty average). In the book it says you will not count calories, ban food groups,
or go carb/vegan free at the drop of a hat. There are three phases throughout the week:
Phase 1 which is on a Monday and Tuesday allows a lot of fruits and carbs. Phase 2
which is on Wednesday and Thursday allows proteins and veggies. Finally Phase 3 which
is Friday through Sunday allows all of the foods allowed throughout the week, just with
added fats and oils. Her claim to fame in this book is to keep your metabolism guessing,
so that it will work harder and faster. The book’s program lasts for 4 weeks, and the cost
of the program is $15.00 plus shipping.

There was an overall positive voice from customers in regard to the book and its
effectiveness to kick start their weight loss. There is always negative reviews with
anything, so there were definitely people who did not lose even close to the amount of
weight that Haylie claimed they would lose, which proves that everyone’s bodies are
different and will react different to certain diets. Some people found the meal charts in
the book to be extremely hard to read, as well as the food choices to be hard to find in the
grocery store. On top of the cost for the book, you will also be paying for costly
groceries.

What Are “Fast Metabolism” Pros and Cons?

The diet is going to require you to read the book, grocery shop, and cook the meals that is
required of you. It does not seem that tough to follow, however there is a lot of cooking,
chopping, and planning that is required on this plan! If you are a busy bee and do not see
yourself spending hours in the kitchen this program is going to be tough to follow. Also,
the idea of having to create your own spreadsheets to find out what to buy and when
which is very time consuming to say the least.

The diet is relatively easy to follow and won't require you buying processed shakes or additional items other than the food you will be eating.

Bottom Line

The idea that you can lose a large amount of weight in such a short amount of time can
set people up for serious disappointment, which is very dangerous when looking to lose
weight. There has been some positive reactions toward Haylie’s points in the book, and
their journey so keep that in mind too. The overall premises of this book is very set in
stone, and will keep you in the kitchen more that you may want to be cooking foods you
may have never thought you would like. The cost for the book is cheap, but the incurring
costs of the food you will be making, and all of the recipe change ups will leave you in a
bit of a whirlwind if you have any sort of a schedule.
