FitTea Review

If you take a closer look at what you are purchasing, you will come to find out that all of the risk lies with the customer.

Review overview

FitTea makes itself known to the world as a “diet tea,” and something necessary to add into your everyday routine.

  • Strong Instagram following
  • Competitively priced

  • No money back guarantee
  • No clinical studies provided
  • Side effects from diuretics
  • Little customer support

Ratings in depth

  • Effectiveness
  • Scientific Backing
  • Customer Reviews
  • Customer Support
  • Money Back Guarantee
3.5 10 Bad

While it looks like a simple detox to me, the company makes the customer feel like they have to drink it every single day for the rest of their lives to have proper weight management. I am already sick of this drink, and I am just getting started. With their no money back guarantee and the messy loose-leaf style teas, this company does not put customer convenience first.

FitTea Claims

“You can use the Fit Tea product as long as you want to lose weight or maintain weight.”

“There is no expiration date for the tea..”

“The best fat loss tea, and dieters tea.”

“Promotes Fat Burning, Boosts Your Metabolism, and Immune System.”

“Fit Tea promotes weight loss by increasing your metabolism with Green Tea, Oolong Wu Yi, Organic Rooibos, Ginger and Garcinia Cambogia. Fit Tea's unique blend also helps suppress appetite.”

FitTea Scientific Backing

The company itself does not provide any clinical studies on their website, or references for that matter. They do have the ingredients listed out and the effects they can do for your body, which was refreshing to see. Some of the ingredients such as green tea, and “Studies have suggested that catechins and caffeine both increase energy expenditure by boosting the metabolism temporarily.” (Diet Pills, 2015). Oolong tea was another proven ingredient, and “Studies have also suggested that the caffeine and antioxidants found in Oolong tea improve lipid metabolism in the body, and that chronic consumption of oolong tea could decrease body fat content and reduce body weight by a small amount.” (Oolong Tea, 2015). These properties are great, but they only attribute a small part when it comes to actual weight loss.

Is FitTea Effective?

Due to the large amounts of positive customer feedback on their website, there is no doubt that the product has seen success. Due to the large amount of positive reviews, it makes me wonder if all of the negative reviews were purposefully overlooked. There are many diuretics that are found in FitTea, which causes a lot of water loss and an appearance of the bloat disappearing. The loose-leaf tea makes the process to make the drink very messy. You have to invest in a strainer (sold separately) to enjoy a clean drinking experience without leaves in your teeth. The inconvenience of making the tea itself would be enough for me to find a better product.

Does FitTea Have Side Effects?

Yes. Due to the large amount of diuretics found in FitTea, there are going to be natural side effects. Urination, increased thirst and dehydration, and dizziness are a few side effects found from diuretics. Drinking pomegranate juice, or the tea that has pomegranate present can also decrease the effectiveness of some medications. Be cautious if you are taking Carbamazepine, as drinking pomegranate juice might decrease how fast the body breaks down carbamazepine (Tegretol). This might increase the effects and side effects of carbamazepine. The exact same set of cautions goes for Medications for high blood pressure (ACE inhibitors). (Pomegranate Effectiveness, 2015).

What Is FitTea Support Like?

On the direct website, there is no number to call but they have an e-mail. There turn around time is 48 hours, and I sent them an email about their return policy because I could not find adequate information anywhere on the site. Come to later find out, they do not have a return policy. The customer is taking all of the risk when investing in the product, and they do not care if it works (or doesn’t work) for you. When going through the checkout phase, they do not give you any indicators that there is no money back guarantee, which I do not like.

Their social media following on Facebook is non-existent compared to their Instagram numbers. They have 1.8-million Instagram followers, but only 60,000 on Facebook. The numbers do not seem to match up, nor does the activity on the social media sites.

The Bottom Line

If you take a closer look at what you are purchasing, you will come to find out that all of the risk lies with the customer. When a company is not willing to offer a money back guarantee, many red flags go up immediately. Companies who offer money back guarantees stand behind their products, and I do not get that vibe with FitTea. Sure, they have seen success from customers, but the company itself is not one I would want to personally invest in. The cost for the product is rather expensive too, for how much work you have to put in to actually make the tea. Passing on this product.
