The SkinnyFox detox is a teatox program that you can either purchase in a 14-day pack, or a 28-day pack. The two teas are a morning blend called “Hello Gorgeous" comes in lose leave, and an evening blend called “Goodbye Cherry Pie" comes in tea bags. The names are quite appealing, but are the ingredients?

Right away I spotted the infamous “Senna Leaf” and “Ginseng” which all have a bad rap in the medical community. Both of these products contain laxative substances, which in turn can have nasty side effects. Finally, I noticed a bit of an error in their ingredient list with “Fennel Fruit” as there is no such thing as a fennel fruit, as this plant comes in the form of a seed or root only. Do they even know their ingredient list?
The company gives no background to themselves and why they got started in the first place, which already has me guessing they only care to get your credit card number. This simple step they left out is so impersonal! To purchase the teas will cost you $34.00 plus shipping outside the USA, and the 28-day bundle will cost $58.00 plus shipping if you are outside the USA. Is it really worth the high cost? Let’s find out.
SkinnyFox Detox Claims
When purchasing on the website you will notice the statement: “The label claims have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.”
They also do not recommend you take their teas if you are pregnant or nursing: “We do not recommend detoxing while pregnant!
If you are breastfeeding, we recommend waiting until you are done breastfeeding to start a detox!
Doctors have found the food a mother consumes can be found in her breast milk. "The herbs found in the detox are not recommended for infants.” If they are not recommended for infants, why are they okay for me?
Finally, they claim that their customers do not exercise while going through the teatox, and if they want to exercise they should keep it really light. “Many of our foxes do not exercise on their detox. Instead they concentrate on mastering their diet choices. At the very minimum: We recommend 30 minutes of walking everyday if you have a lightly active job.”
SkinnyFox Detox Scientific Backing
While they state they have scientific backing and many hours of clinical trials and tested research, it is found nowhere on the website past the statements. There is no tab, and no further insight to the backing behind their ingredient choices for their teas. This is an easy thing to put up on a website, but it is hard to answer the question when it is asked later on down the road. My guess is that they just wanted to put that piece of information on the website to cover their bases.
Is SkinnyFox Detox Effective?
Due to the lack of customer reviews outside of the website, it leads me to think that this company is trying to shield itself from authentic reviews. This is so bad, as it makes the customer feel skeptical right away. They yanked the product from Amazon as well, which is never a good sign. Overall, this product contains a strong laxative effect that will most definitely work in getting the customer to the bathroom. You can count on this effect working. If you are not already feeling stomach cramps, and diarrhea coming on, just wait for it as this is a common side effect from the Senna Leaf. I don’t know about you, but I most certainly do not have time to deal with those kinds of side effects during my busy day if I have the choice.
Does SkinnyFox Detox Have Side Effects?
As stated above, you will notice more time in the bathroom as well as a loss in water weight. When taking caffeine, some people may experience jitteriness, dehydration, and headaches. The water weight does not do a person good in the long run, as this fluctuates by the hour, causing an inconsistent reaction of weight loss. Long term you should not be taking this tea, due to the laxatives present.
What Is SkinnyFox Detox Support Like?
Of course they are not going to provide you a number to call, why would they want to deal with that? They do graciously provide you an e-mail though: [email protected] Overall they do not have a solid platform for customer service, because they are simply looking for you to place an order and then go away. They offer a 60-day money back guarantee, but offer no more details (opened, unopened?). I guess you will have to e-mail in and inconveniently wait for a response before you can even think about taking a risk on the product. This overall just seems like more of a time inconvenience for the customer, rather than for the company. They have it all backwards I’m afraid.
The Bottom Line
There are too many inconsistent holes to make me want to invest in their tea line. Sure they offer a variety of products like scrubs, masks, and shakes but who wants to try those out when the bulk of their company was founded on the questionable teas? With their poor customer service portal, and typos on their ingredient list this makes me want to exit out and find a better company to do business with. Not to mention the unpleasant side effects that are almost guaranteed with Senna Leaf, and Ginseng. No thank you. I do not have time to gamble with my health if I have the choice.
