    Isagenix Review

"When dealing with multi-level marketing platforms, it can be hard to get a straight answer"

    Isagenix Review

    What Is Isagenix

Isagenix was founded in April of 2002, and is a multi-level marketing business that aims to sign individuals up to be brand ambassadors. Based out of Chandler, AZ, they sell nutritional products such as protein shakes, weight loss supplements, diet snacks, and meals. When calling into their support line, I was routed through three different systems to simply talk to one person about some general questions. This was a long process to simply talk to someone real, so I would try to get your questions answered in one shot versus having to call in multiple times. When they try to sell customers on becoming millionaires by selling their product, I already have a gut feeling that this is too good to be true. To see the Isagenix program reviewed by the Better Business Bureau. When dealing with multi-level marketing platforms, it can be hard to get a straight answer because it’s difficult to distinguish between who was a rep trying to make their way up the pyramid, and who was a genuine customer with feedback. The Isagenix

    Conclusion

You can purchase Isagenix on multiple different sites such as Amazon, the Isagenix site, and Ebay. I believe this company is just another multi-level marketing company that offers nutritional supplements with little to no benefits for your overall health. I would call them a multi-level marketing scam myself, because of the inaccurate reviews on their website versus the rest of the internet.

    Medifast Review

"Although the prepackaged meals can be a real convenience, they can also make social outings difficult"

    Medifast Review

How Does the Medifast Program Work?

Medifast was established in 1980 by Dr. William Vitale, and is essentially a meal replacement and meal delivery service for helping people lose weight. The Medifast plan menu consists of protein shakes, soups, and bars. There are over 70 meals you can choose from, and the program prides itself on its cu

Do Dieters Lose Weight With Medifast?

There has been mixed reviews on whether or not this program helps people lose weight for the long term. Because the caloric restrictions can go as low as 800 calories per day, it would be hard not to lose weight, no matter what program you’re using. A lot rides on your liking to the foods that are prepared for you, and whether or not you enjoy the taste. The cost is also a huge factor in people's weight loss success and or failure, as it is not a cheap program overall to follow long term. We found some outside reviews which were very helpful to read:

    DASH Diet Review

The DASH Diet was originally created to help a person lower their blood pressure and that was it, but it soon morphed ito an actual diet program. According to the DASH Diet anyone can accomplish lower blood pressure and even lower weight by simply eating all the foods that are good for them, and it can happen in under 14 days.* This includes foods rich in potassium, calcium, protein and fiber. The DASH diet also says to lay off the sweets and cut salt usage way down. They say because the eating program is heavy in fruits, vegetables, and protein it will most definitely help with weight loss when followed. There are regular, vegetarian, vegan, and kosher options available when looking into this diet program.

    How The DASH Diet Works

The DASH Diet was developed with the help of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. There are two free guides that can be read on how to institute the DASH Diet, one that is short and one that is long.
Basically, both tell you the same thing which is to eat all the things you were taught were good for you when you were growing up. This includes fruits, vegetables and lean meats. Conversely, you should also stay away from foods that you might like, but ones that will be bad for you. This will include sugary and fatty foods as well as excessive amounts of red meat. Salt is also considered a no-no.

Do Dieters Lose Weight On The DASH Diet?

The DASH Diet has proven effective for weight loss when followed properly. However, this is not always as easy as it sounds. Dieters who design a meal plan with a calorie deficit will obviously have more success with weight loss, but the diet is geared more at attacking high blood pressure and weight loss is really a secondary goal of the diet. Therefore, any weight loss that is enjoyed will likely not be as dramatic as many dieters might hope for.

Does The DASH Diet Conform To Accepted Dietary Guidelines?

Using the 2017 Dietary Guidelines for Americans as a benchmark, the DASH Diet easily conforms in the areas of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Even salt can be kept at acceptable levels when the DASH Diet is followed properly.
Other “nutrients of concern” such as fiber, potassium, calcium, Vitamin B-12 and Vitamin D are also usually right on. Because the diet was designed for health more than for weight loss it is much more conforming in these areas as opposed to other “fad” diets on the market today.

Is the DASH Diet Easy to Follow?

How Much Does The DASH Diet Cost?

The DASH Diet can be costly due to what you will eat while on the diet. Because you will have to stick to a specific list of foods that are acceptable and those foods are all on the more natural and fresh side, you can expect to pay for it. Fresh and wholesome foods will always cost you more than processed and frozen foods and if you like brand names you will pay more in that area as well. On top of the actual food costs there are books to read on how to actually follow the diet, and you can find them on Amazon for around $15.00.

Does the DASH Diet Allow for Restrictions and Preferences?

Yes. This includes the needs of those who want to go gluten-free, low to no salt, Kosher, Halal, vegan or vegetarian. The DASH Diet is easily formed into almost anything you need it to be and can easily meet your personal dietary needs. For that reason, this program can be easily molded into your eating habits already.

What is the Role of Exercise with the DASH Diet?

The DASH Diet highly encourages participants to exercise. However, this is again for health purposes and not so much as an added way to lose weight. The DASH Diet recommends those who are not used to physical activity to start out with light activity and then build from there. This can include walking, gardening, or even light aerobic workouts.
The bottom line is that they want everyone to stay active and stay moving. The DASH Diet is a big proponent on setting goals and then sticking to those goals and the area of exercise is no different.

    Weight Watchers Review

Weight Watchers was named the 2017 Best Weight-Loss Diet by U.S. News & World Report. The 7th annual list includes nine sets of Best Diets rankings; Weight Watchers was first, or tied for first place, in almost half the categories and was a runner-up in the rest. [1]
And while Weight Watchers did not make the cut as the “Best Overall Diet”—the DASH diet took that prize—it’s arguably the world’s most popular diet. Anyone who has ever been on a diet to lose weight, and been successful even though it’s often not sustained, has been on Weight Watchers.you follow the plan correctly. Some users lose a pound a week, some three. It depends on the level of effort and your body. Regardless, if you follow the plan, you’ll lose weight. That’s what Weight Watchers promises. Does it deliver?

    The Weight Watchers Plan

The current program is pretty simple: “Every food gets a value. Smart Points are based on calories, saturated fat, sugar, and protein. Just follow your budget [of points] and start seeing results.” [3]
There’s no forbidden foods. That said, the junk will quickly suck up points, so it’s better to eat good foods and manage points wisely. That’s the ‘diet’ part.
Next? Get moving. “Every move counts. Earn FitPoints for walking, cleaning, gardening—you name it. Sync your fitness device with your account and start earning!” [3]
Perhaps the most important part of Weight Watchers is the “I got this” mindset: “Get your head in the game with science-based techniques that go beyond food and fitness.” [3]

The Bottom Line: Is Weight Watchers Worth a Try?

Yes. As long as you keep an eye on the billing (and report them to the Better Business Bureau if you run into problems), the program itself works. If you haven’t done Weight Watchers, try it. If you follow the diet religiously—and it is very doable—you absolutely will lose weight, usually in the neighborhood of a pound or two a week. The tricky part is keeping the weight off once you’ve met your goal. But hopefully, the habits learned while on Weight Watchers will stick. With Weight Watchers, you can’t lose. I mean, you can—you can lose.

    Conquering Running in Cold Weather

It’s that time of year again, when the gloomy skies and unfriendly cold air make your workouts a freezing nightmare. If you are anything like me, you do not like paying for expensive gym membership fees when you can utilize so many different outlets of fitness that Mother Nature has to offer. I am a former professional tennis player by trade, but developed a love for running marathons a few years ago. I am currently training for the 2016 Boston Marathon, and because of the duration of my runs I wouldn’t dare go inside on a treadmill, no matter the elements.

    1. Prepare With Your Footwear

If you are reading this, chances are you know a thing or two about running shoes. To break it down for those of you who don’t, invest in a good pair of running shoes early on and your whole body will thank you! When thinking about running in sub freezing temperatures, it is always a smart idea to get crampons. These nifty devices clamp onto the bottom of your shoes to create traction for running on ice and snow. There is nothing worse than taking a tumble on the ice, injuring yourself and cutting your run short.

    1. Know Your Running Style

Runners can be weird about who they run with, and for how long. Determine right away if you are a social runner, or if you like to endure the elements alone. If you enjoy company, the toughest conditions are the perfect times to grab a partner. They keep you accountable, and they can be your voice of reason for making the decision to get out there when no one else wants to. If you enjoy battling the elements alone like I do, make no excuses when the weather is bad. I like to take my dog, and my music to keep my motivation going in the worst of circumstances. The truth is, the hardest part of your run will be getting yourself out the door.

    1. Start Slow

A good long warm up is essential to prevent injuries in the stiff conditions you are about to face. Start off at a pace 30 seconds slower than you would normally run for about 5 minutes. Getting your knees, ankles, calves, quads, and hamstrings firing correctly will do your body a favor. Chances are, there are not many people out in the conditions you are so don’t worry about “looking too slow.”

    1. Dress For Success

The worst situation for a runner is getting into a pair of tights that chafe your skin, or an insulated long sleeve that doesn’t keep you warm. In the minds of the dedicated, there is no such thing as bad weather but there is such a thing as bad gear choices. This is vital for overcoming the weather, and feeling as comfortable as possible. For sub zero temperatures it is important to invest in an insulated fleece jacket, long sleeve shirt, neck warmer, face cover, gloves, fleece-lined leggings, wool socks, and a winter hat of some sort. Stay away from cotton, because when wet it becomes heavy and impossible to dry again. You will want to seek out thin, wicking layers for your clothing if possible

    1. Hydrate

When it is pouring rain outside or snowing so hard you can’t see in front of your face, the last thing you want to do is drink water. This is important for cold weather runners, because they are burning a higher amount of calories running and trying to stay warm. With the fluids that are being lost as a result of running in the cold weather, nutrients are being lost. Cramping, and dehydration are possible scenarios that could happen if you find yourself out on a long run with no hydrating options. Do yourself a favor, and bring a small amount of water with electrolytes in it next time you run.

    1. Go Bright

Sadly, winter running means potentially having to run in the dark, due to the days being shorter. Even if you are not running in the dark, the days just seem darker in general. Grab a colorful jacket, reflective gear, or a headlamp that is bright and stands out to protect yourself from any accidents. Being safe is always your first priority when battling the elements, as avoiding to do so can result in potentially life threatening scenarios.

Whether you are living in a place with bad weather all winter, or going on vacation to an area colder than what you are used to, these tips will help you confidently get your workout in no matter what the weather is doing!

    Spice It Up!

Many may hear spicy and automatically rule it out, but truth is you are missing out on some great health benefits when you take this approach (or lack of, for that matter).

The beauty to spicy foods is that you can alter the intensity to whatever works best for you! Many may hear spicy and automatically rule it out, but truth is you are missing out on some great health benefits when you take this approach (or lack of, for that matter).

There are a multitude of options when it comes to spices and spicy foods. As you get a little more cultured with your food and move away from the typical Tabasco, and Mexican Cholula, you will discover the Asian foods have many delicious spicy options as well. Although we are most familiar with condiments like Sriracha (as it started being incorporated into most dishes in recent years), sambals are gaining popularity as well. Sambal is a term used to describe a hot sauce derived of chili peppers and other flavors. Whereas Sriracha is of Thai descent, sambals are mainly from Indonesia and Malaysia. Sambals are mainly made of muddled chili peppers. Let’s take a look as to why these condiments and sauces are so beneficial to our health:

    Weight Loss

We all love how exciting it is to lose weight with no effort. Even better, losing weight while adding flavor to our favorite dishes at the same time. When you consume chili peppers, the spiciness releases adrenalin into the bloodstream causing the breakdown of fat. When you see people sweating or your body temperature heating up, it takes the breakdown of calories to produce that energy, in turn burning calories.

    Other Benefits Include

    • Clear Congestion
    • Cardiovascular Benefits
    • Boost Immunity
    • Natural Pain Relief
    • Lower Risk of Type 2 Diabetes
    • Help Stop the Spread of Prostate Cancer
    • Fight Inflammation
    • Prevent Stomach Cancer

*Keep in mind that many sambal recipes include sugar so check out this recipe for a healthy sambal recipe to add to your shrimp or chicken and spice it up!

    Paleo Sambal Recipe

    Yields: ½ Cup

    Ingredients

    • 4-5 Dried Red Chiles
    • 1 Tablespoon Vinegar
    • 1 Tablespoon Coconut Aminos
    • ¼ Cup Lime Juice
    • ½ Teaspoon Salt

    Directions

Begin by removing the stems from the red chilies, and chop them up very finely. Then heat up the lime juice and vinegar and mix well. Place the chopped chilies into the heated limejuice and vinegar and let them steep until the juices start mixing and combine in color. Lastly, add in the coconut aminos, salt, and added cayenne pepper is always an option. Enjoy!

We Can’t All Be “The Rock”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is an icon in not only the Hollywood world, but in fitness and exercise as well..

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is an icon in not only the Hollywood world, but in fitness and exercise as well. His figure is very recognizable and may be an idol to many of you men out there looking for fitspiration. “The Rock” has been working on his figure day in and day out for years and years. At the age of 43 today, he is still in killer shape partly due to the routine he acquired in his part-time professional wrestling career, his roles in movies, and his reputation of course.

Why are we honing in on someone so extreme as ‘The Rock’?

Recently in the media, a man by the username nycballer was featured in a story covered by E! News. He is a man in his late 30’s that felt like he needed a change in his life, just as many of us have recently decided. It is tempting to just go cold turkey into a new workout and eating plan. Dive right in and leave your old habits behind. As great and doable as that may sound with enough inspiration, it is just not reasonable.

Here is a little comedic relief to have you know that you are not alone when you put all your eggs in one basket, and think that your lifestyle will be able to change overnight. This man took it upon himself to follow the in-depth routine (including food prep and workouts) that “The Rock” had detailed in articles such as one featured on BodyBuilding.com. Including everything from the grind in the workouts that begin with a 30 to 50 minute run at 4 a.m., interrupted by breakfast, then continued with steel. This breakfast is not your typical breakfast; it requires steak, two cups of oatmeal, eggs, etc. Once he eats breakfast, he hits the weight room for training. As a general description of the workout, he lifts ”heavy, hard, and often.”

This nycballer, made it halfway through his 30-day challenge before he realized it really was just unattainable. I am certain that with gradual effort and continuous hard work he may reach these goals, and somewhere down the line a similar physique, but that is just not reality in a month or two or even three for that matter. “The Rock” replied to this man’s efforts with a tweet saying:

“Uh oh. This kind of only works if you train 2 times a day, work 14hrs on set and are half Samoan/Half Black. And cuss. ”

He said it himself. For all of you that have been following your favorite Instagram models, exercise bloggers, and incredibly fit celebrities let them be an inspiration and motivation. Do not get yourself thinking you can become them overnight! Now go out and start tweaking your daily routine, to one day get to where you want to be!

    Train Like Your Favorite Celebrity

With close to 90 Celebrity Clients, Harley Pasternak has created quite a name for himself in the fitness world...

With close to 90 Celebrity Clients, Harley Pasternak has created quite a name for himself in the fitness world. Training celebrities of all shapes, sizes, and ages have been his strong suit as well as numerous honors he has achieved along the way. Harley is a certified nutritionist with a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and Nutritional Sciences from the University of Toronto as well as an Honors Degree in Kinesiology from University of Western Ontario. These are just a few of his achievements; he has also published several books including “5-Factor Fitness” and three others.

This Los Angeles resident is not your typical Equinox trainer; he in fact is far more than that. He is actually considered a celebrity with his personal achievements by themselves. Through incredibly hard work, effort, and time he has become one of the top fitness icons and influences for the celebrities we are inspired by each day. Behind every great motivation there is groundwork to be put into place, and this man does just that. He began taking on his first clients at the age of 18 back in his hometown of Toronto. It was then that he began his journey to change people’s lives and enhance their fitness and diet plans.

Mr. Pasternak claims he can get any woman to lose weight (pretty bold statement), but the challenge is when he is hired to take some of the fit women in Hollywood (such as Halle Berry) and get them into shape for roles such as “Catwoman”. He has taken on numerous clients over the years all with different goals from pregnant clients such as Kim Kardashian, to singers like Adam Levine, to models such as Kate Upton. You name them, and Harley has probably crossed paths with them at some point.

Being the driven individual that he is, chances are he will tell you there are several ways to lose weight, create a clean and healthy diet, and give you several different workouts to improve different parts of your body. But the key to success is sustainability.

Sure, we may not all have the drive to work our hardest in each workout we try, and to always steer clear from those french fries while out having appetizers with friends, but with balance and sustainability you are on track to success no matter what. Some hardcore trainers may say that if you are really enjoying the flavor of something you should not eat it, food is just fuel. This intelligent Mr. Pasternak would most definitely disagree. Nobody is perfect, not even the most fit figures in the world. There is no sense in overdoing anything, or shooting for extremes because you will not attain your goal. Just as the alternative, if you just sit back with excuses you will not wake up one day with a new lifestyle. It all begins with you and your decisions.

Take Rick Fox (a former Los Angeles Lake and television star): “My tendency was to over train. Harley has taught me to eat healthier, simplify my workouts, and maximize results.”

Eve (famous singer):“Before I met Harley, I was never able to find the time or motivation to work out. His brilliant regime of twenty-five-minute workouts has enabled me to make fitness a part of my life and healthful eating a priority.”

Mr. Pasternak continues to train and refine the lives of several celebrities today. Look to figures like him and his hardworking clients for inspiration, and realize that you yourself are just like them. With the proper balance, sustainable diet, and workouts you will achieve the best you.

The Takeaway: Let this insight on celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak inspire you to keep on your commitment to changing your lifestyle, little by little, day by day. The key to training like your favorite celebrity is in yourself and the balanced routine you create.
